Professional opinion on why the proposed changes to the NHS are a ‘public health catastrophe’

As many of you will know, I strongly believe in the NHS. No it’s not perfect, but it is one of the most efficient health systems in the world, and compares incredibly well on access to care, gaps in care, and lack of medical errors.

Such is the concern of health professionals over what this Bill will mean for public health, the NHS Consultants’ Association and other organisations have petitioned the Queen to ask her to reject the Bill.

In the video below, Professor Allyson Pollock and David Price from the Centre for Primary Care and Public Health, Queen Mary University, explain why this change to the law (not simply NHS reform) is so harmful, and will create a ‘public health catastrophe’.

It’s not too late to help stop this Bill becoming law. One of the easiest ways you can help is to sign this petition, which will be hand-delivered to an influential crossbench Lord, Lord David Owen on Monday, before the Bill is debated for the last time in the House of Lords..

And crucially, please share this video with everyone you know, so we can raise awareness of what the Health & Social Care Bill will do to the NHS, before it’s too late!
