So there’s my tuppence on the ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ arguments. Having looked at these, I think there’s still too many questions around how much an elected mayor would cost, and how much power they would have over the elected councillors, to choose to change the system, combined with risk given the bad experiences in Stoke and Doncaster. Also, are we to believe that we need another politician in Salford?
So I’ll be voting ‘No’ on 26th January. But I’d love to hear your comments on this, so let me know your thoughts below.
