Advent Calendar: Day 24 – O Holy Night (by @KristynaMyles)

NativityAs this is Christmas Eve, I thought it fitting that I share my favourite Christmas carol, ‘O Holy Night’.

It’s easy to get lost in the hectic rush around Christmas, but this carol reminds us what this season is all about:

O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Saviour’s birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
‘Til He appear’d and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

The video below is my friend Kristyna Myles performing for Premier Radio last year, and it’s a beautiful version of the song.

Please can I encourage you to take a couple of minutes, away from the chaos of getting ready for tomorrow, to listen to & watch this video, and to reflect on the original meaning of Christmas.

I hope you enjoyed that. Have a very Happy Christmas!
